I have always had a deep love for travel and seeing new places. Most people love vacations and traveling, but I’ve been obsessed with it on another level since I can remember. When I was a little girl I use to go to the library and check out a ton of travel books. It was mainly travel books on Orlando FL. I would make a list a write down all the things that I wanted to do there. I did this every time I checked those books out. I also used to carry a magazine like brochure around that I got from the travel agency. It was a Disney World brochure that went over the main 3 parks, the water parks and other areas that they had. The other half of the book was all hotels, and I would just star the ones that I wanted to stay at. I took that magazine everywhere as a kid. When I was a teen, I started to actually buy travel books of the places that I wanted to visit. Fast-forward to now, and I just look it up all the time on my laptop or phone. My parents used to say that I should be a travel agent, but I can only plan trips based off of my own interests. Nowadays I wonder when will the world get back to normal. When will we have the green light to go anywhere again?
My other half and I planned a spring trip at the beginning of the year. It was somewhere that I always wanted to go. I was so excited for weeks. I kept researching all the cities and planned everything out. I couldn’t wait, but when the pandemic hit our trip got canceled. It was a good thing that it got canceled, but it was still sad, nonetheless. Now I wonder when we will be able to travel again. I thought things would be better by now, but it feels like it’s spreading a lot in my city the past six weeks. Sometimes it feels like we won’t be traveling until 2022. I know a lot of people have been going to Mexico lately. That has been the go-to spot for most people, but I don’t want to go anywhere until things improve. It’s better to be safe than sorry. Until then, I will be planning imaginary trips on expedia.com. Or maybe I should just put on my VR and play one of those walking around Rome videos, so I can feel like I’m in Italy. I’m just going to have to bring these places to me. 😊 Did you have any canceled trips this year? Did you improvise and come up with your own quarantine vacation? Let me know in the comment section below! 😉
