What I like about Halloween Time

Halloween can mean a lot of different things to many people, but to me Halloween is the time of year where we can take a break from being ourselves. For one night (or a few nights if you’re a multi-day celebrator) you can be someone else (or something else). Besides giving into my sweet tooth and loading up on candy, I look forward to pushing my problems and constant worries aside and letting myself take the backseat for the day. Elle is officially no longer behind the wheel, and *insert fictious character* is now in charge. This year I wanted to try something different. I figured since we were still in the month of October it would be acceptable to dress up at any time of the month. So, a little over 2 weeks ago, my friends and I decided to dress up and go out for the night. We weren’t ordinary humans for the night, instead we were vampires. From years of watching Twilight movies, Vampire Diaries, True Blood, and other vampire movies and shows, we were ready to become a mashup of everything we watched from over the years just for kicks and giggles. It was so much fun and exciting that I even continued to do it a couple days later by myself just because.

After all the fun I figured why stop there. Maybe it’s something that I can do randomly whenever I feel like it. I know I’ve always wanted to go to Comic-Con and actually dress up, and I have yet to do that. Hopefully I can finally make the plan to do so. In the meantime, I’m going to have fun with it and dress up when I want. It might be weird to some people, but when did I ever say that I was normal? I’ve always marched to the beat of my own drummer so why change now? However, I wouldn’t be full out in a dragon costume, or walking around outside in a playboy bunny costume on a random Thursday in December. It wouldn’t be nothing wild and outlandish, just random, and fun characters that could pass as everyday wear, but with a slight twist. I don’t know exactly, but I’m going to have fun with it because why not?
