For the last few months, I’ve been thinking about taking one of those free college courses that’s been offered during this pandemic. I’ve been contemplating taken one of the business courses where you pay for the certificate only. My only concern is not being able to finish and losing money, since you have to pay for the certificate upfront. On the other hand, it is “self-paced” so not having the pressure of deadlines might help. It would also be nice to add something new to the resume. I’ve been thinking about doing one of the courses offered at Harvard University. Even though there are many free courses (that fits more of my interests) offered at other schools. A part of me wants to take a Harvard course mainly because of my younger self. When I was a child Harvard was probably the first college I ever heard of, and I knew that it was one of the best schools. I wrote a fake acceptance letter to myself from Harvard. I was so young when I wrote it I completely forgot about it. I wasn’t even thinking about Harvard when I was in middle school or high school. A couple years ago my parents were packing up everything for the move and my mom came across that old letter. I even spelled Harvard wrong. I think I replaced the second “a” with an “e” or something like that. 🤣 When my mom told me, it all came back to me and I remembered writing that letter as a kid. Of course, this is completely different and wouldn’t be the same as actually being a Harvard student, but I still want to do it. It might be silly, but I don’t care. I think I’m going to do it!
Have you taken any free online courses during the pandemic? How did it go? Would you recommend it?
