December is coming up and I’m a little excited. It’s something about Christmas time that eases my mind, especially since I left the retail scene. During the years at my old job I was not thrilled about this time of year. Even though Christmas is supposed to be a joyous holiday, it brought out the worst in a lot of people. I remember my first Christmas after I left that job. It felt like I fell back in love with the Christmas season. All month long I usually drink hot cocoa with extra marshmallows, bake cookies and watch Christmas movies. I usually leave the tv on the Hallmark channel and just let the Christmas movies continuously play. I also have a booklet of Christmas DVDs that I pullout every year. I can’t wait to get into the season. I hope we get some snow this year, but not too much. Snow days are fun when you’re young, but I understand how hard and dangerous it is to get to work. It’s like when you’re older it’s just more of an annoyance, but it’s still beautiful, nonetheless. There’s nothing like a city view full of snow from your window. One thing about living in the midst of tall buildings and businesses your outside view looks like you’re in the middle of a Christmas movie in the city. Most people probably prefer the snowy cabin in the mountains type of scene, but it’s something about snow in the city that makes me feel extra Christmassy. Maybe it’s because most businesses put up decorations, so it’s like a constant reminder. I just want to take it all in and enjoy the moment because I know how fast it goes by.
