Last Summer I told myself to start celebrating the small things in life, and for awhile I did. Every small accomplishment or small task completed I would write it down and celebrate it. To most people it probably wouldn’t be a big deal but focusing on those small accomplishments got me through the second half of 2020. Lately I feel like I might have lost sight of that, and I want to make sure I continue to appreciate the little things. In my opinion I feel like when you celebrate the small things in life it helps you to be present in the moment. As I mentioned in previous posts, I tend to live in the past or obsess about the future so much that I lost sight of living in the now. I get so wrapped up in things that have already happened or what I fear that’s going to happen that I missed out on so much. I should’ve paid attention to what’s in front of me. Since the beginning of the year I’ve made sure to add moments out of the day to write down what I am thankful for and my highlights through the week. I don’t want to miss anymore moments. So, if you haven’t already, start celebrating every small victory! That recipe you made from scratch … Celebrate! That painting you painted last week … Celebrate! That moment of laughter that you shared with your spouse/family or friend … Celebrate! The cabinet your organized or that song you wrote … Celebrate! Live in the moment! Don’t take anything for granted. Be grateful for every experience and anything that made you laugh or smile. Life is too short not to enjoy everything it has to offer. So start living, laughing and loving! 😉
